Yes right from its construction to its completion to the present day there’s a mystery in the air around Mehrangarh Fort. The haunting past is about the Mehrangarh Fort’s entombed truth leading to a dark world behind the largest fortress…

One upon a time in graceful yesteryears lays a saga of curse and sacrifice !

Majesty Rao Jodha the ruler of Jodhpur from 1438 to 1488 on his accession laid the foundation of a fort on the top of a rocky hill known as Bhaurcheeria, the mountain of birds. Unfortunately to build the fort the only lonely human occupant a hermit named Cheeria Nathji was forced from his abode…  The angered hermit restlessly cursed Rao Jodha! Cheeria Nathji uttered about the scarcity of water in the fort complex for time immemorial. The King constructed a home with a temple for the hermit but all failed to eradicate the effects of curse…

Rao Jodha to ensure that the curse is completely alleviated showed the darkest side of human character as he forcefully buried a man called Rajiya Bhambi on the foundation of the fort… Rajiya Bhambi’s last word was “O mighty King doesn’t let people know how cruel our ruler is let my forceful killing be immortalized as the sacrifice for my motherland”…

To save himself from the beating of history he ordered that for coming centuries his descendants will be looked after by the Rathore’s. But such an inhuman act was not even accepted by the cosmos and until date the region suffers terrible famine, drought, after every 3 years..
